"In-Person" Hours Suspended for 2019-2020 Licensing Period

IFDA received word that the 5 “in-person” hours requirement for Indiana funeral director license renewal has been suspended for the 2019-2020 licensing cycle. https://www.in.gov/pla/funeral.htm

You may now obtain all 10 hours for this licensing cycle via distance learning.

Waiver of Distance Learning Continuing Education Cap: The Indiana State Board of Funeral and Cemetery Service has waived 832 IAC 4-1-1(e), removing the maximum hour of continuing education that may be obtained through distance learning. This waiver is set to expire at the end of the public health emergency. A copy of the waiver can be found HERE

IFDA will be presenting numerous opportunities in the coming months to obtain these hours, many hours at no cost to member firms.

IFDA offers deep gratitude to the Governor’s Office, Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, and the State Board of Funeral and Cemetery Service for considering our plea for recognizing the hardship this pandemic has created for the licensed Indiana funeral professional and making this welcomed adjustment to Con-Ed requirements.
