Gerald L. “Jerry” Jacobs, 76, of Monroeville, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice Home. Jerry was born in Zulu, IN, on December 31, 1946, the son of the late Victor U. and Georgiana A. (Jacquay) Jacobs.

Jerry began his profession at Klaehn Funeral Home in Ft. Wayne. He received his degree from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis in 1969, passed his National Boards and received his embalming license that same year, then received his funeral directors license in 1970. Jerry then worked for six years at Mungovan & Sons Mortuary in Ft. Wayne. From 1977 to 1993, Jerry and his wife Rose owned and operated Marquart & Jacobs Funeral Home in Monroeville. He continued in the practice of funeral service, serving the needs of the families in the Monroeville community for two decades until his retirement in 2013.
