It is with great sadness that the family of David “Dave” Henry Cook, 81, of Brookville, Indiana, announces his passing on January 26, 2026. Dave was born in Batesville on June 27, 1944, to the late Howard and Sarah (née Franke) Cook. He was a devoted father who held a deep and abiding love for his community.

Dave moved to Brookville in 1965, where he began a lifelong career alongside his parents as owner and operator of the Brookville branch of Cook Funeral Home. Together, they also continued to operate the family’s original location in Sunman. While serving as a business owner, Dave simultaneously began what would become a lifetime of service as a volunteer, leader, coach, and mentor throughout Franklin County.

David is a Past President of IFDA, serving his presidency is 1982.
